A Sketch Challenge

Hi! There are some great things going on at 2RedBananas right now. First, we are sponsoring the House Mouse Challenge this week. It's a sketch challenge and this is the sketch that Jami designed for it. (She has so many talents :) You can go to the House Mouse Challenge blog to read all the details and post your project. You will be entered into a drawing for a new House Mouse stamp :) If you don't have any House Mouse stamps, you'll need some after you see all the fun projects that the dt's have created with them. You can find them here. :) We also have some new House-Mouse stamps on order and they should be here soon, I'll let you know when :)

We have just received papers from My Mind's Eye's CHA release. Hope to get them all up on the website today! :) The nestabilities from the CHA release as well as some new metallic dew drops from the Robin's Nest are ordered and I'll let you know when we get those in too :)

Our 'Week of Peeks' will begin Monday, February 23rd and the new stamps will be released Monday, March 2nd. Deb Felts (our guest designer) will be joining us for our 'Week of Peeks' so don't miss out! We will be doing things a little bit differently than we did last month, we don't want you to get bored of the same 'ole thing, so stay tuned for more info on that :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the House Mouse Challenge!

It's Challenge Time with Blog Candy :)

Our very first challenge...the beginning of what we hope will become a favorite of yours from 2RedBananas!!!

This challenge is an easy one, it is to use your favorite stamp on a new project!

Yep, that's it. Easy, unless you're like me and then choosing your favorite stamp is the difficult part. I chose this stamp because it's my "Right now favorite". I love how warm and cozy they all are.

This one uses House Mouse 'Cozy Roost' and the sentiment is 'A Difference'.

I used Blingz for the sky and I wanted you to see how cool it is. I mixed Wintergreen and December Sky because I didn't want true blue or green, but something in between. It was so easy to do. I just dipped my brush (the same one) into each color separately and mixed them as I was coloring the background. It's so easy to get into smaller spots, like between the birds legs with Blingz and Shimmerz. I did small sections at a time so it wouldn't dry before I was ready. I also used Angels Wings shimmerz on the birds bellies, but you can't see that as well because of my lack of photography skills. I used glitter for the snow on the limbs.

I also used aqua mesh ribbon by May Arts.

To participate in our challenge, just make a project using your favorite stamp or your "right now favorite" stamp. Leave a comment on this post with a link to your creation. You have until Friday, January 2, 2009 at midnight CST to comment. The winner will be drawn randomly on Saturday, January 3rd.

The blog candy will be the winner's choice of any 2 Shimmerz or Blingz paints that 2RedBananas carries.

I also wanted to share the sketch site I used for this card:
http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ - I used sketch #30. Great place to find fun sketches :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and we can't wait to see your creations!!!

House Mouse Cutie

Well, it's time to get this party started (not the real party - our GRAND OPENING PARTY will be held when we have our original stamps ready for release. But the party that starts sharing projects, news, and other fun stuff can begin now :)

The House Mouse are in the house! I wanted to share this card with you because of how versatile these little guys are. I paper pieced this one and then added a pop-dotted Mudpie so he would be standing out from the coffee cup. Fun and easy to do. I also used October Afternoon - Daydream: Patio Umbrella patterned paper (both sides), pink sheer twinkle May Arts ribbon and Fresh Mowed Grass dew drops.

Be sure to stop by often as the design team shares their projects as well. You can also always go directly to their blogs listed on the right side.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I promise things are moving along nicely and we will have those exclusive stamps ready soon :)
