You're a Gem!

Happy Banana Split Sunday everyone!! Before I let you know about this weeks challenge, I want to give you an update on the April stamp releases. Typically you would see us doing our Week of Peeks this week, but as our manufacturer is going through some changes with his office, we have decided to move our release date to the middle of the month. So, we will be doing our Week of Peeks starting April 6th, and the new stamps will be available in the store on Monday, April 13th. We'll be keeping this schedule - so look for our new releases to be mid-month from now on.

Now...on to this weeks challenge! This week we have a prize - the Top Banana will be able to choose a bottle of the new metallic dew drops from the store! We carry three of them which you can see in the picture below. The new dew drops are larger now, and also come in a larger bottle!!


So, in honor of the fun shiny gems, we'd like to see you use gems on your project! It doesn't have to be dew drops - it can be any kind of gem. You can use pearls, or rhinestones, or beads...

Are you ready for our next challenge?? This week we have an inspiration challenge. This picture is of a print called "The Banana Bandit". So fun, I know! Don't you just love the rich southwestern colors? Do you see the bandit? The little guy in the sombrero stealing a banana? Hee Hee.

If you're new to doing an inspiration challenge - all you need to do is have a look at this photo and let it inspire you to create. Perhaps the colors, or the layout, or whatever you choose. Be sure to post a link to your creation back here with Mr. Linky so we can all see it!

A Spring Themed Challenge

Thanks for all the participation in our sketch challenge last week! You guys totally rocked that sketch!!!

OK....I was looking at the calendar when I was coming up with the challenge for this week and I thought about doing a St. Patty's day challenge. But that only gets through half the week. Then I realized Spring begins this week!!! Woo Hoo!! I don't know about you all, but I am very ready for some warmer weather.

So to celebrate this, I thought we would do a Spring themed challenge. You can create anything you like that's inspired by Spring. This could be the images, the colors, the project itself...whatever means Spring to you! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

To make this week even better - we're offering a prize! The "Top Banana" will be chosen at random from the Mr Linky entries on this post (be sure to use Mr Linky to be entered). We'll announce the winner next Sunday, the 22nd.

Banana Split Sketch!

Seriously...what could be better than bananas and ice cream? A sketch you say? OK... we can do that too! We're very excited to begin our weekly challenges. We plan to have a little of everything, and offer prizes every now and then as well. During our first blog hop, so many of you said you liked sketches, so we're starting with a fun sketch. You can flip it, rotate it, even change it up a bit, as long as we still recognize the sketch.

I tend to use the term card because that is what I make the most of - but you can use the sketch for whatever you'd like - a layout, a card, an altered item... If you upload your work to other online galleries, please use keyword 2RBBSS01 (2 Red Bananas Banana Split Sunday #01).

Then be sure to link your card back to this post using Mr. Linky so we can all see your work! Mr. Linky will only be available during the week of the challenge, but feel free to use the sketch later on too. There will also be a link at the top of the sidebar with the current challenge. So, no matter when you come to visit us here, you'll be able to find the latest challenge quickly.

Banana Split Sunday!

Happy Friday!! The Banana Bunch has decided to start hosting a weekly challenge. Each week will be different. There will be sketches, inspiration challenges, color challenges, supply challenges, and what ever else we can dream up for you. We'll try to offer up prizes at least a couple times a month, but hope you'll try to join us all the time just because we're a fun bunch of bananas!

Bunnies and Eggs

Good Morning! It's Day 7 of our Week of Peeks. The last set to be showcased for this release - but it's a REALLY cute one! This one is called "Bunnies and Eggs", appropriately named for an Easter set don't you think? There are four stamps in this set, 3 images and one sentiment. Really cute things!

Teresa made this card and I love the shimmery egg paper than she used for her background. If you look closely you can also see the gem she used for the bunnies nose....hmmmmm....that may be some inspiration for the inspiration challenge on the 2RedBananas blog :) Teresa has more details on her blog.
